Shelter a new space for children to play at Thandakuphila

– Singisi Forest Products recently extended a helping hand to Thandakuphila, a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) in the rural village of Nkwezela near Bulwer in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The NPO, which is dependent on donations, is run by volunteers who care for those living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. Many children orphaned as a result of HIV visit the shelter daily after school. Here, the children are given a nutritious meal, participate in various life-skill and educational programmes, and are helped with their homework. SFP recently built a shelter at Thandakuphila that will serve as a space where children can do their homework and play while being protected from the elements. Last year, SFP assisted the project by donating timber and shade cloth to build structures for growing vegetable seedlings. SFP strives to embody the value of inclusivity by caring for its neighbours wherever possible.
