Rising sports stars score big during Youth Day tournament
– Young soccer and netball stars ensured that the competition was tough at Langeni’s annual Youth Day sports tournament, held in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape in June. The tournament, held at the Langeni Sawmill village, was a huge success, with local sporting heroes vying for prizes sponsored by Singisi Forest Products. The Langeni Strikers soccer team took victory on the day, as did the Langeni Estate netball team, and the community turned out in great numbers to encourage their teams. The development of youth from local communities is an important focus area for SFP, who welcomed the opportunity to be a part of the tournament.
